""The woman she stared, I started to shake Can only think, 'flashback,' am I even awake?" Todd Hughes Thanks Todd, for your iambic pentameter. You are one of the few who bothered to do this. When you write, 'The woman, she stared,' you are, I realize, trying to keep the iambs going. However, whenever you can, avoid sounding like you are trying to fit into the meter; this is very fucking hard, and I fight against it all the time. In this case, how about: The woman stared, and I began to shake All for now. Good to hear from you."

A Sort of castle of time/held firm in my mind, Where old friends and lovers, brothers and mothers could live forever, but how?
But you know/what we have...
Coz we don’t need/coz we have found...
When souls tied together there’s special kind of gold/ don’t have to hold too tight, you know that bind will hold
Two Souls bound together by a wheel that spun gold/ A little touch of magic, that helps us grow old.
When I saw those Italian boots sitting by the door/ my mind went into overdrive, wanting to know more
voice of an angel goes right to the heart/ lonely road has ended, no longer apart.
with that simple sonnet, the candle’s re-lit/ Love hasn’t died, not even one bit.
We all get our chance to make it right/ We all make our choice, to forgive or to fight
Tear off that jacket of blame, burn down that wall of shame/come back to me, start at day one again.
Cause new plans’ in order, souls gotta be free/ Leave pain behind, its freedom for me.
There’s a time to leave pain in the rear view mirror, For my sake not yours, I need to see clearer.
A Spirit with no spark, is a tragic state/ No indignation or Fire, accepting fate
Decisions determine how the future unfolds/ stuck in old patterns, or try something bold?
I’ve been thinking and I’ve been drinking, you carved initials on my heart, over on the broken part.
Old preacher said the truth shall make you free/ I’d prefer lies, smile, soft touch, and let me be
Changed your ring tone, changed my home, can’t change my mind, cut to the bone
Ticking clock, the caged tiger/ ready to pounce Old truth can’t be hidden/ lies are announced
Plastic Jesus, keeping time on the dash, just another reminder...
A people proud, stand tall through the rubble/ knowing the heart and that love conquers trouble
Salt air smile generation passed/ pockmarked land of beauty thru grainy broadcast.
Wisp of smoke, silent crowd, raw beauty screams through a scarred land...
Dark before dawn, hard to pierce, voodoo hymn strains, against poverty's curse.
Island in the sea, French Caribe vibe, sand, sea and azure sky...
Clock is broken, time stands still, hands don't move, silence, alone, listen to my heartbeat...infomercial rattles on.
But is that light, that glimmer for me, or has hope slipped out the door, with your memory
Hear me. My voice is failing steadily.
Touch me. I cannot live vicariously.
Noise from the street, creeps uninvited, cartons, cans, dirty clothes, frame bed, only light from TV...
The bird who flew, knew, too/ grabbing air, easier than loving you
Not cosmic, flagrant, culture clash/ hearts burned too hot, vaporized flash
Put on my tin foil hat, jiffy pop vibe/ fold caffeine addled bod into vintage ride.
Hey hey barber shop, who say, you say, fop the mop, I'm in the yard, thing bout razor wire, sharp on top.
Bing, bang, Boom, smack the head, there's change in the air/ trump me, trump you, trump off, you're just voting for hair.
Rag top, flip flop, flood pant, ankle man/popped tight, outa sight, maybe yay, prolly no tonight the night?
I'm an old school ghost, silhouette in the night/ twisting like a pretzel to make all things right.
Romeo you know, had a thing for the ladies/ if he showed today, nother internet crazy
Funk the funk clock left the house, broken face glows/ time machine reminds, to sharpen arrows bend the bow.
Chilling hard, looking sweet is pretty rad/ la boca spouting like a tool, kinda sad
If I can grab those nerve ends, and give them a twist/ Heart skips a beat, I'll be in linguistic bliss.
Pocket of ideas, original thought/ Minds' on the run, reality is caught
Where's the keys, where's the car? my wallet, the phone?/ Gotta make it happen, cause I'm in the zone!
Coffee to go, gas tank tanking/ 'Nother shot of Joe, systems' cranking.
Grab a Coffee to go, my gas tank says E Start this day out right, cause this ones for me.
Clock strikes get up, got to get er going Grab flip flops and shorts and pocket full of coin.
But to fly we need wings, or maybe just a plane...
The bed feels like a prison/ reminder you're not free/ a place of love and lust and grace/ tarnished by a new reality.
Can't change all, eliminate fear, but you can change the one you see in the mirror
And there's season for all, turn, turn, turn judgement, bombs and walls, just burn, burn, burn
Because it's not just rock and it's not just roll / It's love for your brother, before hate takes its toll.
"Santa's funny, bunny tale, how Rudolph really saved Christmas"
They say that it's better to give than receive/ this old gent's been giving so long no reprieve
Legend says, he's jolly, fat and old Truth came out he's more crazed, young and bold.
When first I saw that rusted sleigh, through bits of fur and antler bone, child's tale from long ago, recalls fat baby, left all alone.
Pedal on the floor, take a little toke.
Eyes are watering summer fire.
Asphalt snake, no head or tail
We stand free today, side by side, broken, rebuilt, we laugh and cry.
Grab and hold what is precious still, time and love that we haven't spilled.
Smash the chains of the addict now, we're signing up for life again
Tie me back together, tie my heart to yours, tie us to the world again, unlock all the doors.
Tie me back together, tie my heart to yours, tie me to the world again, open up the doors.
We all sing together, we raise one voice aloud, a song of hope and love, we know we can be proud.
When the fog cleared at last, and I could see again, a world full of colour, hope and love, amen
I became my own hero, took the knife from my hand.
The Black box was broken, a Ray of light came in, a sliver of hope, where hopelessness had been.
Now you're a blast from the past!
Whenever I call you I say not again.
Somehow hit the gutter, when we shot for the sky.
Rain is running in the street, wind is whipping at the door, you keep running for the coast, just like you did before.
There was a time it felt so clear, no drama to unfold, just sweetness by the fire, waiting to grow old.
Rain pouring in, wet dog smell, buckets on the floor, catching what we can.
Closet full of memories, closet full of bones, keep it closed my man!
I've kicked your habit, wear it well, now you're getting dressed alone.
So give me a pencil, no make it a pen, let's write it in ink so it doesn't happen again!!
I broke loose from your spell and I'm not going to quit.
There's a stench in the air, a fog in my brain, while a scratchy record plays an old refrain.
Maybe foolish, maybe brave, we work without a net.
Rolling waves that washed an old bottle ashore/ Delivered news of tales from an ancient war.
There's an absence which keeps the heart still fond Still there's distance too far for this earthly bond.
That what we built was not meant to last...
It's shoes off, wheels up, head against the seat/ Smile on my face, drink in my hand, six hours til we meet!
We hung on for the ride, we laughed until we cried, we loved, we fought, we danced, we tried....
Like a bird with clipped wing, a dog on a chain, this love battered heart, will now always be restrained.
(But there was none to be found), it's only love that you threw away, or did you hope to save it for a rainy day?
Floating on Summer breeze, "worse or..."
Help me forget them please
Ring unfettered
I stood there at the station, watching that old greyhound go, knowing everything you owned, was in that cargo stowed.
Why that bird has flown.
Mocking me silently
From dog eared page in fading ink.
Our government said we have to cut costs, so our faithful posties were put on the block. She stared into the gloom amidst a swirl of snow, to the ice rutted sidewalk, as the last of the mailmen approached with his final load.
Once seemed so important to be heard and be known, now mellowed, softened, quiet smile reflects that we've grown.
Let your spirit soar, our hearts entwined, come what may, now is the time.
Dusty old book says it might set you free!
And they say words are cheap, which is so untrue, they are precious and lasting, no matter what you do.
know the truth, you only get by giving...
You sear my soul, You rock my roll You Open my eyes You pierce my guise You are the spoken word.
A weight has lifted, yet only a word, a healing touch, though the source is blurred
Yet a spoken word, that chills my bones, rises from beyond, a haunting tone.
A Swish of the hips, a shuffle of the feet, graceful as a panther she moved across the street.
Mist of the night, fog of the blind, new wind blows, clears something from my mind
Tonight when she hits her feather nest, just stay on the ground, get some rest.
She dreamt of flying, to be set free, embrace her final destiny
Air rushed by like wings of a dove, she swooped and fell lifted by love.
She closed her eyes, and dove with grace, into the abyss or into space?
She believed and her faith restored, as the winds took hold and up she soared.
Perhaps a tree is just too low/So to the cliff tops she would go.
Float...on feathery wing, float....were there's no sting
As the ground rushed up to meet her, no fear or pain but love did stir.
And like the fate of the dried leaf, her time in the air was far too brief.
But all leaves flutter every fall, scarcely time for her to scrawl.
She dreamt one day she could swim the sea, play like a dolphin, finally be free.
But those who fly too close to the sun, we know the ending and then it's done, icarus.
You can run down the street, run through a wall, run away from me...
The winter sky shines offering glimmers of hope/recalls past loves, faded dreams and new ways to cope.
he caresses the bottle trying to make it last, as the final drop of red rings round his glass,
First ray of light shimmers and breaks on through, last wisp of night fades like an old tattoo
Gather your loves, collect the heart, keep it all together when things are spinning apart
Let's take a chance, unravel the moon. Old mysteries and lies can be revealed soon.
Let's take a chance, unravel the moon. Old mysteries and truth can be revealed soon.
Risk takers take note, your time is now, no reward without trials, before the final bow.
Taste the evening, savour the day, when night closes in we always find a way.
Draw me nearer, nearer my love, tonights first moon rays know where we've been.
A glow that burns from outside in, wakens memories of where we've been.
A broken soul is an awesome grace, to start again rebuild this place.
A broken soul is an awesome place, to start again rebuild this place.
Dirty sidewalk rising up, to meet me at the door, hungry soul stretches out, old sweatshirt hits the floor.
Writings on the wall and it's not a pretty sight, thought it was love but it was just another night.
The weathered boat sets sail, no more than a scow, ghostly apparition glides across the bow.
Leaves burn with colour as the fall winds start to grow, reminds me of a childhood lived so long ago.
There's no point in laying blame.
You know I would...
But as I wade through the clutter, photos in my mind of me and you, paint a picture of happiness, that we never really knew.
So Forget the old song and dance, to try and hide that stain, cause once you're finally free there's nothing more to gain.
Maybe, There's a place for us, if you even dare, to forget the past, just be my friend, i really do still care
No matter where that goes, there's no way to ignite that flame.
We can twist it round till the blue moon comes, it still comes out the same
When people go their separate ways, for better or for worse/ A vow that seemed so clear, now hangs there like a curse.
If I could grab the clock and turn it back, wring healing out of pain / You know I would, you know we can't, go back there again.
Rain slaps against the glass, Wipers steady metronome, only to remind me, the music is my home.
It wasn't out of malice, a heart bruises when it falls.
But like a painter from the past, we can recover from these squalls.
Each ancient stroke comes down, recalling those tortured calls.
The road that seemed less travelled, is so well trod by now/that plaintiff call of home, now reminds me of a vow.
There's a city that grabbed my heart, thought it was over, but it's just the start.
There's a place that I used to know, where the women are pretty and the cold winds blow
Where I worshipped is of no mean, she takes me back we both start clean.
Time's no friend to me and my kind, I'll give it a try see what we find
Grace alone does not mend a heart, love on the altar is only the start
This dance with the devil has gone too far/time to extinguish that fallen star
No more running, can't try to hide/face the music and come inside.
Warm soft glow of evening light, reminds me all can be made right.
A scarlet thread that runs right through, tells the story of what we knew.
Move your feet, tear your clothes, open your heart, open your soul.
Fire, coal, a burning rock/touched the sun, still in shock
Can I really say honest though? Made bad choices and there you go
Her memory is a faded shade, a broken man who made a bad trade.
None of that really matters now, important thing is to make that call.
A stolen soul is a terrible thing, one given for free can only sting.
It's now or never, no more time, fallen angel's stolen mine
Thunder rolls right through the door, feet are dancin across the floor.
Rollin hard across the plane, come on baby feel my pain.
No time to pack or time to run, face the music here we come.
She slid across the room like a silhouette, no one on her arm to guide her yet.
When dawn first glimmers it's hopeful light/smile on your face, you rocked all night.
When times seems short, and night feels dark/tap your toes reignite the old spark.
One more time, where the murky waters flow/dance to the beat under moonlit glow.
Let's kick down the door, remember our roots Time to put on our rock n roll boots.
bring on the shake and the rattle and roll, it's an old time love song with a bit of soul
There's time to work and time to play, but sometimes you just gotta say hey! It's a wonderful life, yeah it's a wonderful life.
Let's kick down the door, remember our roots Time to put on our rock n roll boots.
It's a life we weave of love and caring/when the threads we use are spun through sharing
So Gather folks along your road, to share the burden, help ease the load.
fleeting moment to grasp the ring/to love and laugh, to share and sing
We work and toil and worry our way, Through time so precious, maybe seize the day?
Unknown twin, haunted me since birth/ Past untangled, free to emerge
game is won, mysteries revealed/time stands still, answers unsealed.
Resurrected, time understood/ Gutted, glory, now gone for good.
As dawn arrives, a first glimmering light, chases uncertainty, illuminates the night.
Mine they are indeed, revealed through tears, culmination of hopes, dreams, thoughts and fears.
vagueness, dream sequence have begun to clear, an understanding grown from adult fear
Shout out alert, I cannot take crdeit for the great line, which was attributed to me in error, perhaps, my name came up as I commented on it. Cheers Guys!! TH
continuum of time, connects then and now, surpassing understanding of why and how.
record is skipping, no one there to hear/a tree in the forest, triggers ancient fear
listen carefully and you may find/dreamers' words crystalized unveiling time
Clarity comes to an innocent mind/this man's no candidate for grace of that kind.
Lingering doubt, turns to uncertain fear, knowing the past and the present meet here
Is it feeling or time, which wraps round the brain, a cluttered continuum of familiar pain
Is it now or then, the mind wants to know, storm closes in like I've lived this before.
An old wind that stirs my mind from the past I've been here before, the players miscast.
The woman she stared, I started to shake Can only think flashback, am I even awake?

"A Cosmic Game"
Or have we spent our human equity playing some cosmic game?
The end they say will come, in a blink of an eye, as we stand in line at starbucks and wonder where is mine?!
There's a season for all things, but who would have thought, the expiry of this earth would be so quickly wrought
if a wish is granted now, or never comes to pass, the truth is we may never know, as we split from our land mass
What we Believe or not, is now unimportant, cosmic chaos has birthed a new order
Is survival the goal, or breathing forever? Has digitized destruction loosed our tethers?
on the brink or beyond, or do we want to know? The stars have aligned, at last to let us go.
We're Embracing code, like new commandments, eschew old rituals, be the last man standing.
Is this brave new world, built by technocrats, a better place to live, to raise our rugrats?
Now the beautiful question to ponder, is this progress or just folly? We wonder
Time to ride the celestial train, build anew, stretch out again.
So come on with us, ride along, as we write a new chapter to a cosmic sing.
The traveller dreams things yet unseen, a land afar, filled with satellites and shooting stars
Going to the celestially space, above the earth, maybe to grace a brave new world of satellites and falling stars
But as we evolved, we so wanted more space, expanded our footprint, to a bright, starry place.
these caves they could not hold, and scrapers just too cramped, headed to outer space, to have our foothold stamped
Some of are us are brown, and come from different folks, Our DNA distinct, fueling cosmic hopes.
Should I wish or should I run away?
