About Me

My name is Peta Cameron, I am a lyricist working for past 20 years with the artist Greg Drahm. Together we have created many compositions, one being an album and video-clip called "Good to be Alive. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjulkqdsfNA It received airplay around 20 years ago, with many other songs on the album. The song Good to be Alive was written for reconciliation and was selected as the theme song for the 2000 Olympics in Australia, only, suddenly to became shortlisted, due to the greed of our producer, at the time, wanting to be paid up front, leaving us devastated. Hence I have much experience with the downside realms of the music industry. Greg and I worked together with our producer, Kevin Stanton; Kevin was a guitarist and song writer from the 80's group called Mi-Sex and wrote a popular song called Computer Games. He has recently passed away, never giving back the original recording of our album, yet constantly promising them to Greg. Master tapes for this song, were never regained, nor the chance or finance to re-record. Kevin was a brilliant sound engineering, just not so much with his values in life of other people, due to his addictions. He recently passed away. I decided to take a chance and offer my lyrical work into this song writing collaboration in Hookist. I am an author, a poet and an artist. I enjoy photography, painting and writing music and researching artists. I have a blog on music artists, the link below. http://musicindustrypoptrivia.blogspot.com/ I have an interest in progessing my lyrical talents through collaborating with others, after writing for many years. I met Beth Nielsen Chapman at a workshop many years ago in South Brisbane Qld, Australia. Where she signed a copy of her first music which I purchased at the time.

Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PCam's lyric:

"really some interesting imaginative stuff in this! but it's too big and cumbersome for this section. "goodwill to reunite" is too many syllables and I have to think too hard to figure out what it means."

Lyric by PCam:

"But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight Thoughts that may impart/Goodwill to reunite Worlds so far apart The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right"

Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PCam's lyric:

"MUCH better!!! LOVE the whole first half...keep playing with silly stubborn pride...who's pride? That needs to be more conversational.

and the second half if you could rhyme the next line with "shout":

Well we can scream and shout,
hurting one another
Wrong or right,
tangled in pride
But I don't doubt
Even though your heart is kind
I’m never gonna change your mind.
"

Been a long way to here To say it’s over Make it clear What is lost/can be found So close now Higher ground we’ll find Are you ever gon’a change your mind

Now the game’s sewn up Is it really over Made my point/ It’s Treasure-hunt time/ Make that call May be something left to find N’ maybe you will change your mind.

Now the time has come Is it really over/ Made my point/ Time after time/ No more words/ Will it be a brand new life Or, will you ever change your mind.
So there’sno words left or Now, there’s no more words Hearts must make decisions one line beats/ with the sign Made my point Will it be that hearts entwine? Hop’in that you change your mind
So is it just lost time/Is it really over
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight A horse that’s dark It’s name “Starlight” Just like Joan of Arc The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right

But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight A dog with a bark/Yet,not with a bite Just like Joan of Arc The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight A Magical spark Rainbow lights ignite Soaring into the dark or Soaring in an arc The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight The tinniest of spark A glimmer of light Twinkling in the dark or (Twinkles in the dark) The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right

But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight A twinkling part/Needs the spotlight A true work of art The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight A dream that you start/strikes a chord so right Love, the color of art The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight Whispers with words apart/Dreams of one night Feelings that start The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight Desire to kickstart/Dare,still in flight MIndgames that restart The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight Hurt, that keeps us apart/A spirit so contrite Finding your counterpart The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight Thoughts that may impart/Goodwill to reunite Worlds so far apart The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight/ Glimpse’s of Bonaparte/Warmth of fire-light Two souls too far apart The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right

But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight/ An angel with a harp/Holding candle light Good reasons need a start The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right

But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight Ignited from the start/Beams of white light Reasons not to part The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right
But in the middle of your heart/hidden out of sight Is it a Bonaparte?/Or a state of fright What keeps us far apart The notion that I might/ Might just/Might be right

I'm gon'a hold my faith/knowing loves' the answer/ Speak my words/With nothing to hide/Just one world/Blowing in the winds of time/I'm never gon'a change my mind
I guess I've come to realise/Life's a rolling dice, and it's true/So, deep inside I can't deny/I'll always be a part of you.
Tangled in pride
Well we can scream and shout, hurt'in one another/Wrong or right, silly stubborn pride/SO, is it worth the bother...is it just DO or DIE/ I'm never gon'a change your mind.
If I could make things right, you know I would do it/Wrong or right, life gets in the way/Don't lose site or it's just a DO or DIE/I'm never gon'a change your mind.
I'm never gonn'a change my mind/ Was wings that carried me that night/So lost, yet something new to find/It's carried on the winds of time.
Your never gonn'a change your mind/Still you can't find what your looking for
Well, I'm never gon'a change my mind/We all feel we all laugh and we cry/ It's written in the winds of time/Only LOVE aswers the question WHY.
