"No matter what I do or say"

Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PAGIRL's lyric:

"This is close...first two lines sing great. Third line changes the accent and I'm not sure what you're meaning? Fourth line right amount of syllables but notice how the accent is on the wrong syllable? "

Lyric by PAGIRL:

"Well, I’m never gonna change your mind. No matter what I say or what I do. Though I’m not on a parallel line. I would be a fool to try to change you."

Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PAGIRL's lyric:

"Yes. Love that it's simple and to the point! But in the case of this second line say has to be stretched across two notes "say-ay o-or do".

If you want to fit that line more closely to the melody rhythm you could say:

"It doesn't matter what I say or do"
or
"Doesn't really matter what I do"
(this is my fave...super easy to sing)

You could also open up other rhyme possibilities with

"It doesn't matter what I do or say"

I throw all options down when gathering first lines!! Try it every which way....!!"

"Well, I''m never gonna change your mind/No matter what I say or do"

Beth Nielsen Chapman commented on PAGIRL's lyric:

"wow! really cool and fresh...love the way it sings on the melody which is critical for me. still not completely clear what it means...but love the door it opens....the concept that we walk in parallel lines when we are not on the same trajectory...keep exploring this angle! But this would be the 3rd line and lines 2 and 4 with another rhyme..or that's how I'm leaning! :)"

"Well, you're never gonna change your mind. And I walk the other parallel line."

I was on the phone this morning with a friend just in her forties; her cancer’s back she cried.. and this time it’s bad.
But this time the truth shines clear so I cannot agree to disagree
Our divide may seem real wide/and we both can own some blame/If we leave our polar sides/we’ll meet where love remains
Our divide may seem real wide/and we both can own some blame/If we leave our polar sides/we'll meet where love remains
and pace
No matter what I do or say
Well, I’m never gonna change your mind. No matter what I say or what I do. Though I’m not on a parallel line. I would be a fool to try to change you.
Well, I''m never gonna change your mind/No matter what I say or do
well, I'm never gonna change your mind. You walk in your own shoes. Though I'm not on your parallel line, I'd be a fool to try to change you.
Well, you're never gonna change your mind. And I walk the other parallel line.
