About Me

I've been writing songs since I was 10....that means 56 years for me. In all these years I've worked hard to find a style of writing that is instantly recognizable as my own...Ron Kauffman...ie...Ronnie Lee. Hopefully what I do will be something that fits in with what's happening on this site. I'm very interested to see how it goes. I'm on a number of sites but I've used Reverbnation to showcase some of my music. Just a bit about me: I was born in Roswell New Mexico, 03/28/1953. I studied Music Education at " Broward Community College" after I got out of the "Marine Corp". My 1st year in the Corp I started out in an 81 and 60 morter company. After my first year I was transfered to "Ona Point, Okinawa, 3rd Recon Battalion, (LRR), where I remained for the rest of my enlistment. My next enlistment was in the National Guard, 1st 278th Howitzer Battery, Maryville, Tennessee. After I got out of the Marine Corp and while in College, I went back to working as an "Arborist", and for the last 47 years I've run my own small treecare company. I've also continued to write and perform my own music. When my son was born, I continued to perform locally and in Nashville to promote my music. When my daughter was born, I made the decision to put performing on hold,(other than some local performances mostly in festivals for charitys. ) Now that my children are grown, for the last 10 yrs. I've been performing...again mostly for charitys...and writing constantly. I don't know if I'll ever accomplish my goals...but since quitting isn't an option, I'll continue doing what I love and hope for the best. Peace, Ron

I thought I knew you inside and out. But lately I've been having some doubts. We're always out of sync, feels like we're right on the brink, of a flash flood of tears.
He was just 19, a raw Marine, no fear that I could see. We were paired in a hole, survival the goal, and he took every word I said dead seriously. (Possibly chorus). I'll carry you. I'll teach you everything I know. I'll carry you. Until your safely on your own. I'll carry you should you get hurt, do my best to make sure you go home alive. Failing that if it's the last thing I do, to bring you out and send you back, "I'll Carry You"
He was just 19...a raw Marine...no fear that I could see. Paired up in a hole...survival was the goal...and he took everything I said dead seriously.
