The HiFi Bar Trivia Series

This historic rock and roll bar’s first incarnation was the legendary live music venue, Brownie’s, “one of the crucial East Village rock haunts,” says The Village Voice.  Bands like the Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Interpol played some of their earliest shows here, and though the place has evolved nicely from its dive bar roots, it still lives up to its serious rock cred, showcasing great new bands, supporting the very cool charity, Musicians on Call,  and making a home for El DJ, a modern day jukebox with over 4000  albums spanning 4 decades, lovingly hand-picked by our friend (since high school!), the owner of both Brownie’s and HiFi Bar, Mike Stuto.

A music connoisseur of the highest order, Mike will challenge you with a couple of trivia questions a week for your shot at earning some credits.  They’re usually tough ones, so answering one question correctly will most often earn you two credits!

1.  What is the first album by Elvis Costello & The Attractions

2.  Two major late 60s hits by The Rolling Stones were issued as singles and never appeared on albums (other than ‘greatest hits’ or ‘live’ type albums). Name One Of Them.

Email us at info@hookist.com with your answer – and don’t be doing any googling!  Karma is a boomerang!
